Ahoy! I'm Michal Stawowski, a forty-something author and illustrator based in Poland. But before I dove headfirst into the world of rhyming adventures, my world was one of pixels and vectors.
As a professional graphic designer, I spent my days bringing ideas to life on a screen. But the greatest adventures began when I had kids of my own.
Suddenly, my world was filled with new challenges and even bigger emotions. My poems are born from the everyday moments I experience with them and from the wild ideas in my imagination. "The Furious Fly" is my attempt to help my daughter navigate her big feelings, while "Bunnykaido" came to life during a play-fight with my son and his favorite stuffed rabbit.
This book is a collection of those moments: of the laughter, the questions, and the wild imagination of childhood. I wrote and illustrated every part of it, hoping to create something that other families could share and laugh with, too.
When I'm not drawing or rhyming, you can find me waking up before dawn for a workout, and dancing with a basketball at sunset. My other serious duties include building LEGO® Star Wars™ vehicles with my son and having very important meetings with my daughter's favorite hand puppets.
